The Texas PLO Roundup $3,300 Pot-Limit Omaha Main Event kicked off at Champions Club in Houston, Texas, featuring a $1,000,000 guaranteed prize pool.
The Day 1A field attracted a total of 76 entrants, with Ravee Sundara bagging 921,000 to lead the surviving nine players.
Matthew Macioce (770,000), Samuel Fuller (657,000), Arthur Morris (573,000), and Curtis Muller (562,000) round out the top five players who bagged in the first of seven flights.
It was a steady climb up the leaderboard for Sundara, becoming one of the first players to cross the 300,000 chip mark early in the day, and scoring a number of eliminations along the way, including Andrew Denick and Mark Ioli to end Day 1A.
Other notable players who found a bag include PGT regulars Adam Hendrix and Isaac Kempton, as well as 2024 Poker Masters Purple Jacket winner Jim Collopy.
Morris would cross the 200,000 chip mark early on and build from there after eliminating Hall of Famer Erik Seidel and this year's Main Event winner, Jonathan Tamayo, in the same hand. Morris was able to crack Tomayao's aces by flopping an ace-high flush, and although an ace on the turn would give Tamayo life, the river bricked to secure Morris the double knockout.
Macioce and Sundara would collide in a hand that saw Sundara fold trip aces face-up on a double-paired board to river check-raise from Macioce, and this hand would propel Macioce over the 300,000 chip mark.
Fuller was another player with a steady climb throughout the day. At different points, he would double through Morris and Martin Zamani, and win a sizeable three-bet pot against Kempton when Kempton check-folded the turn to a pot-sized bet from Fuller.
At the season's end, the top 40 eligible players on the PGT leaderboard will qualify for the PGT Championship. The 2024 PGT Championship will be a $1,000,000 freeroll with a $500,000 first-place. Along with the top 40 eligible players, limited PGT Championship "Dream Seat” winners will be awarded through special events and promotions. Information on the Dream Seat promotions can be found here.
This tournament series is part of the PokerGO Tour (PGT), and players earn points based on the amount they cash in PGT-qualifying buy-ins of $3,000 or more. The full PGT schedule and current leaderboard can be found here.
